Submit text for search ads in correct length:
  • Headline: 25 characters
  • Description line 1: 35 characters
  • Description line 2: 35 characters
  • Display URL: 35 characters
Please do not forget to mention destination URL of your ads.
Submit animated images in a correct format and size:
  • Creatives must be in GIF, JPEG or PNG formats;
  • Image ad files must be 100KB or smaller;
  • Animated GIF ads can’t have a frame rate faster than 5 fps;
  • Animation length: Animated ads are restricted to a maximum of 30 seconds, after which point they must remain static; We recommend shorter than 30 seconds.
  • On all GIF creatives with partially black or white backgrounds, you must add a visible border of a contrasting color to the majority background color of the creative.
We urge using HTML5 or image ads for best compatibility and reach, because their advantage is reaching mobile users and impressions not supported for Flash.

Please use the same specifications as for the 3rd party ads defined (next tab) as well as Image ads. Animation length: Animated ads are restricted to a maximum of 30 seconds, after which point they must remain static; We recommend shorter than 30 seconds. Currently, we can convert your Flash ads to HTML5. If you host ads on own ad server, you can set HTML5 creative as a fallback to your flash ad as well. Moreover, HTML5 creatives have flexible in dimensions, which means, if you choose ads to host with us, we can make them responsive in size, similarly to responsive websites. Please submit your HTML5 ZIP archives with no more than 10 files. Please follow the image ad specifications mentioned above. Please make sure to use SSL-compliant (“HTTPS”) ad responses. All media and third-party tracking URLs must be SSL-compliant. Ad creatives hosted on 3rd party ad server should apply all the same requirements as for the image and flash ads. Please declare all the used ad technology vendors beforehand to see if they are certified, and no more than three ad technologies can be used on a single ad creative. Not all ad technologies are certified on ad platforms Joinville is using. Usage of uncertified technology may result in limited inventory availability. All the targeting, such as geography and sites, should be done on Joinville's side. Please make sure to follow our specifications in order to avoid delivery discrepancy.
Expandable ads are creatives whose dimensions expand when a user interacts with them (i.e. hover). Submit expandable ads in a correct format and size:
  • Flash and image files are supported (max file size 70KB);
  • If you are providing 3rd party ad tags, depending on its placement, a creative must expand in one plane (either left or right, up or down) only. The ad may not expand in two directions at the same time, however it may be designed multi-directional;
  • The initial unexpanded layer of the creative must have a z-index value that is less than 9010, and the expanded layer must have a z-index value greater than 11100;
  • Expandable ads currently depend on use of JavaScript tags. Iframe tags cannot be used.
Both user-initiated, on-click and on-hover expandable creatives are allowed. Ads can expand in one or more directions up to the following maximum dimensions:

  • Mobile ads must be image creatives;
  • Animated images are not supported for Smartphone In-APP ads
  • Enter up to 35 characters of text you wish to display in the ad. Choose your ad text carefully to maximize ad performance;
  • We accept 38x38 and 72x72 tiles for smartphones and tablets respectively.
Mobile (Smartphones) We accept the following two image sizes:
  • (320x50)
  • (300x50)
Tablets We accept the following three image sizes for tablets:
  • Med. Rectangle (300x250)
  • Standard Banner (468x60)
  • Leaderboard (728x90)
Submit In-Stream Video ads (VAST-Compliant) in a correct format and size:
  • It is needed to have a minimum of 3 separate nodes included - one for each H.264(MP4), FlashVideo (FLV) and WebM video formats for each video served in the VAST tag;
  • We support the following ad unit sizes: 480x360 (4:3), 640x380 (16:9) or 1920x800 (5:2);
  • The file size should not exceed 10MB;
  • Video length can be under 15 and +90 seconds;
  • Maximum frame rate 30fps (to be eligible for the most publisher inventory incl. YouTube);
  • Must be SSL-compliant (“HTTPS”);
  • Must be served via a linear VAST-tag (pre-fetch tag) by approved vendor;
  • Make sure your ad server returns a valid crossdomain.xml file;
  • Be sure that all of your VAST tags include a specific consistent value for your company in the node in the VAST XML;
  • Each VAST tag generated should include a unique value for the “id” attribute in the node;
  • VAST-served In-Stream ads are not eligible to run on mobile, tablets, game consoles or connected TV devices.

Facebook ads

Please make sure to submit all material in correct sizes and length for either of the two types of Facebook ads: News feed ads
  • OBS! To run a Facebook news feed ad campaign, Joinville needs access to an advertiser's Facebook page (Access role: Advertiser);
  • Facebook ad image size must be 1200x628;
  • Within an image, text can cover more than 20% of ad space but it is recommended to keep it around 20% of the image (text overlay tool for testing: https://www.facebook.com/ads/tools/text_overlay);
  • News feed must contain a message no more than 200 characters in length;
  • Headline must be no more than 25 characters in length;
  • Ad text must be no more than 90 characters in length.

Right side ads
  • Facebook ad image size must be 1200x628;

Twitter ads

Twitter ad types include Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts, and Promoted Trends. Most commonly we run campaigns based on promoted tweets, which would help to drive website traffic via website card added to a tweet. Please make sure to submit all material in correct sizes and length for Twitter ads:
  • Tweet text: max 140 characters;
  • Website URL;
  • Twitter card image in dimensions 800x320 (5:2 ratio) pixels, max weight 1Mb;
  • Headline: max 70 characters.

Instagram ads

Instagram ad types include Instagram Carousel, Instagram links, as well as Video. Please make sure to submit all material for Instagram campaigns following the correct guidelines: Carousel
  • Image size: 1,080 x 1,080 pixels
  • Caption: Text only, 125 characters recommended
  • Minimum number of images: 3
  • Maximum number of images: 5
  • Minimum resolution: 600 x 600 pixels
  • Maximum resolution: 1,936 x 1,936 pixels
  • File type: .jpg or .png
  • Maximum size: 30 MB per image
  • Caption: Text only, max. 2,200 characters

  • Minimum resolution: 600 x 315 pixels (1.9:1 landscape)/600 x 600 pixels (square)
  • File size: Up to 1.75 GB max.
  • Frames: 30 fps max.
  • Bit rate: No limit to bit rate file if you're using two-pass encoding, as long as your file doesn't exceed 1 GB. Otherwise, 8 megabits per second for 1080p and 4 megabits per second for 720p.

    • ex. Products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury such as recreational drugs, equipment in relation to drug use, weapon-related materials.
  • Products or services that enable dishonest behaviour
    • ex. Hacking software, website traffic fraud, forged/fake documents, or cheating academic services
  • Offensive or inappropriate content.
    • ex. Racism; sexism; religious, sexual exploitation or political intolerance including organizations that support any of the previously mentioned, graphic violence, extortion/black mail/bullying.
