The Calle Ocho Festival is best known as the biggest street party in the US. More than 1 million people from around the world come to this single-day event. The festival takes place on the 15th of March (2015) in Little Havana, Miami, United States. The Little Havana enclave started because in the 1960s Cuban refugees began settling around Miami’s ‘Calle Oche’. Another major influx of Cubans occurred during the Mariel boat lift of 1980, which ended up increasing the Cuban population in this area.
